‘Small Prophets’ Co-Producer Hires Development Executive From Sister

Small Prophets co-producer Blue House Productions has hired a development executive from Sister.

Shaunna O’Brien joins the Manchester label as Development Producer and will identify and develop original projects.

Blue House said it is currently in development on several originals across comedy and comedy drama, with further announcements to come.

Blue House is run by Gavin & Stacey director Christine Gernon and Emma Strain, a former VP of BBC Studios LA. The company is formally announcing itself to the world this month and was one of the indies behind Small Prophets, the top-rated and critically-acclaimed BBC comedy that recently sold to Apple TV. Mackenzie Crook’s series, which will soon roll cameras on Season 2, stars Pearce Quigley as an eccentric man who starts trying to create magical spirits to see if he can learn if his lover will return to his life.

O’Brien joins from Liz Murdoch and Jane Featherstone’s Sister, where she worked across the slate especially in the north of England on shows like the BBC’s The Split Up.
