Angine de Poitrine Debut “Zugzegk” During First US TV Appearance on Fallon: Watch

In the midst of their first-ever US tour, Angine de Poitrine landed at the The Tonight Show to abduct Jimmy Fallon and his late-night audience into their polka-dotted collective. The masked duo debuted a new song called “Zugzegk” — with Fallon holding up a sign spelling it out as he pronounced it something like a choking duck — and you can watch the replay below.

Greeting the audience with their intergalactic triangle symbol and a surprisingly emotive cheer, Angine de Poitrine showed off the surging, looping, microtonal sorcery that’s garnered them so much attention (interest? Intrigue?). “Zugzegk” has guitarist/bassist Khn really flexing his dexterity on that double-necked monster of his, while drummer Klek lays down an intoxicating, hi-hat-heavy groove that places everything somewhere between space rock and surf rock.
