MANILA, Philippines – Motorists are getting some relief at the start of September as local oil companies cut pump prices, with diesel and kerosene seeing the biggest reductions of nearly P4 per liter. Gasoline prices, meanwhile, dropped by as much as 40 centavos per liter.

The price cuts come amid renewed hopes for an end to the conflict in the Middle East, which helped ease concerns over global oil supply.

However, consumers may still face higher costs for liquefied petroleum gas, with LPG prices potentially rising by as much as P3 per kilogram this month due to a weaker peso and higher shipping costs./dp
