Known as 'Cyberpunk 2077's' biggest fan, Angharad is a Welsh games writer who thrives in anything related to digital storytelling. If a video game explores the intricacies and horrors of womanhood, she is there.

Thanks to previous work at GAMINGbible, GameByte, The Loadout, Game Luster, Angharad has built a strong understanding of both the digital world and what fans want from it and is eager to share her thoughts and expertise with readers.

When it comes to successful web novels, Solo Leveling is one such example, and since its publication began back in 2016, it has gone on to become one of the most successful anime of recent years.

Airing back in 2024, the story takes place in a world full of passages known as 'Gates', portals that connect dimensions to the present world. It is in these dimensions that people with special powers exist, known as Hunters, and one day, our protagonist, Sung Jin-woo, suddenly gains extraordinary powers that see him transform from a low-level Hunter to one of the strongest.

Now with two seasons under its belt, as well as a sequel anime film, subtitled Beyond the System, currently being in production, the future of Solo Leveling is looking bright, but the good news does not end there.

That is because Solo Leveling: ARISE OVERDRIVE has officially received a release date for PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S, after previously only being available on PC since November 2025.

To celebrate a year since its original launch, Netmarble has revealed the console release date for the hit fighting game: 3 November 2026. More specifically, it will arrive on both PS5 and Xbox Series X/S at 4:00 p.m. Pacific Time. As the official game synopsis reads:

Solo Leveling, the webtoon with 14.3 billion views worldwide, is now an action RPG game! Help our hero grow from his humble E-Rank beginnings.

Sitting at a 'Mostly Positive' rating on Steam, Solo Leveling: ARISE OVERDRIVE is one of the most successful video game anime adaptations in recent years as players experience "a beloved story retold with brand-new chapters."

As such, players will take on the role of Sung Jinwoo and help him become the world's strongest Hunter. Featuring both an original story translated straight from the web novel, as well as adventures exclusive to the game, this anime-style fighting game includes dynamic combat, iconic bosses, and "a Monarch Awakening system that adapts to every combat situation."

Not only that, but Solo Leveling: ARISE OVERDRIVE will task players with putting their teamwork skills to the test courtesy of 4-player co-op raids. By teaming up with friends, you will be able to defeat the mighty commanders and choose between fighting as Jinwoo or other Hunters.

Concluding with a robust weapon crafting system that allows you to combine items found on the battlefield into weapons, players will be able to "make and use powerful weapons from the original webtoon like Kasaka's Venom Fang and the Demon King's Daggers!"

Although we are yet to see the console reviews, we can safely assume that the PC version of Solo Leveling: ARISE OVERDRIVE has its fair share of fans. Over on Steam, one positive review reads as follows:

"This is an awesome game. I really love the combat, it's clean and easy to handle. It also has a really cool old school gaming vibe to it. I was not expecting to choose different classes and thought it would be more of a linear story. I was pleasantly surprised by the fact that you can open-world jump into other gates not aligned with the actual story. I'm only a few hours in, but this has got to be my game of the year right now."
