OFFNIC Coffee brings their unique soybean curd latte to Petaling Street for a fun experience

KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 25 — Feeling a little bored of your daily dose of latte or Americano?

Get ready for a fun experience at OFFNIC where coffee gets melded with Asian elements to create playful beverages like Tau Fu Fah Latte.

Using their house-made tau fu fah crafted from soy milk brewed by them, the bitterness in the coffee is tempered by the smooth tau fu fah, giving the drink a dessert vibe that is not too sweet.

It also extends to a Black Sesame Latte or the Guava Lime Tea which is also unique with the use of guava jam paired with jasmine tea brewed from tea leaves imported from China.

“We set up OFFNIC as we want to serve good coffee in a fun environment,” said OFFNIC’s Charles Wong.

Plans are afoot to start roasting their coffee beans themselves too.

Currently they use the following coffee blends: Infuse Kasih (Peru and Ethiopia) as their House Blend and Golden Senja (their Single Origin Espresso from Costa Rica).

Each alphabet from the OFFNIC names has various meanings, where “O” is for origin, “FF” is for fun and flavour, “N” is for natural, “I” is for inspiration and “C” stands for craft.

Started in Puchong back in 2024, OFFNIC recently branched out to Petaling Street where it is housed inside a 150-year-old building.

In honour of the rich heritage of its location, the fit-out evokes a Nyonya style with dark green walls, nostalgic frilled glass lamps and curated antiques.

Specially designed merchandise — cups, mugs, bags, caps, fans and umbrellas — can also be picked up at the cafe.

It’s not only beverages as various sweet and savoury snacks can also be ordered.

For a more substantial meal, look towards their house-made focaccia sandwiches, made upon order.

The crowd pleasing bread retains its fluffy texture and makes for stellar sandwiches with BBQ beef and caramelised onions or a Mushroom Melt.

OFFNIC also keeps the fun going with a claw machine at one corner; much laughter is bound to accompany the many tries to bring home a furry duck souvenir.
