#NSTviral: Malaysians flex muscle and lift badly parked car to clear gridlock

KUALA LUMPUR: A group of Malaysians recently took matters into their own hands to clear a traffic bottleneck caused by a parked car on a narrow road.

A video of the incident, which shows six people physically lifting and shifting the vehicle out of the way, has since gone viral online.

A Threads user posted the clip with a shoutout to the Malaysian spirit, calling out the driver for being inconsiderate and blocking the street despite knowing how narrow Penang roads can be.

The post quickly drew strong reactions online, with many praising the collective effort to resolve the gridlock.

"Instead of sitting there honking for 30 minutes, they just lifted it and moved on. Real 'Malaysia Boleh' energy," said a Threads user.

Another called the six men "heroes".

Under Section 48(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987, parking or leaving a vehicle in a manner that causes obstruction, danger, or undue inconvenience to other road users is an offence punishable by a fine ranging from RM1,000 to RM5,000, imprisonment for up to one year, or both.
