Zidane’s first job will be to lift his players after the disappointment of losing in the semifinal to Spain in this summer’s World Cup — a tournament they had looked well placed to win after making a superb start to the competition. Turkey, meanwhile, is looking to make amends after falling well short of expectations at the World Cup, crashing out early in the group stage.
