At a time when right-arm off-spin has dropped down the pecking order in world cricket, Saransh Jain and Tanush Kotian gave a timely reminder of the skillset’s enduring value in the Ranji Trophy on Thursday.
Saransh registered match figures of 13/89 to help Madhya Pradesh secure an innings victory, while Tanush Kotian took 11 wickets to help Mumbai defeat Haryana by ten wickets.
It was the first ten-wicket match haul in a First-Class match for both players.
Saransh, who has played a solitary game for India in the second Test against Sri Lanka earlier this year, took seven wickets in the first innings before adding six more to his kitty in Bihar’s second batting essay.
Tanush, on the other hand, took two wickets in the first innings before taking 8/81 in the second innings to help set up an easy target of 97 for Mumbai.
