Weather: Brace for gusty winds and thundershowers in these provinces

Here is what the weather has in store for KZN, Free State and North West on Saturday 5 September 2026.

KWAZULU-NATAL

Cloudy and cold to cool conditions will continue, with isolated showers and rain expected.

Along the coast, winds will blow strongly from the south to south-west north of Richards Bay at first, while other areas will experience moderate to fresh easterly to south-easterly winds.

The wind will shift to a moderate to fresh north-easterly direction south of Durban by late morning before spreading towards Cape St Lucia by evening.

Cloudy, windy and cool to warm with scattered showers and thundershowers but isolated in the extreme east.

BLOEMFONTEIN

Bloemfontein is going to be cloudy and windy, with widespread showers and thundershowers.

Temperatures will range from a minimum of 09°C to a maximum of 21°C.

NORTH WEST

North West is going to be cloudy, windy and cool to warm, with scattered showers and thundershowers but
widespread in the west.

MAHIKENG

Mahikeng is going to be cloudy and windy, with scattered showers and thundershowers.

Temperatures will range from a minimum of 11°C. to a maximum of 22°C.
