23-Year-Old Singer Is Quiet Riot’s New Frontman After Open Audition

A 23-year-old singer named John Torra is the new frontman of veteran metal band Quiet Riot following an open audition that included over 700 submissions.

The position became open after singer Jizzy Pearl announced in July that he was exiting Quiet Riot to pursue other creative projects. He played his last show with the band on September 18th.

The band announced John Torra as its new singer with the following statement, “Quiet are proud to announce their new lead singer, John Torra! The 23-year-old Long Island vocalist stood out among more than 700 submissions following the band’s open call for singers. John sent his audition videos to management and also shared performances online, where they went viral and sparked an incredible response from fans.”

Regina Banali, the band’s manager and widow of late Quiet Riot drummer Frankie Banali, stated, “We saw your comments, tags, and messages urging us to bring him on board. But what earned John the gig was his undeniable talent. His videos were outstanding—but when he stepped into the room with us, he blew the doors off our songs. We all heard it: an authentic sound that brings our material to life the way it’s meant to be heard.”

She added, “He may be young, but he’s dedicated and professional. He brings a breath of fresh air that lifts us all, and we couldn’t be more excited about the future with him on lead vocals. Please join us in welcoming John Torra to Quiet Riot!”

In addition to Torra, Quiet Riot’s current lineup features classic bassist Rudy Sarzo, guitarist Alex Grossi, and former Type O Negative drummer Johnny Kelly.

Torra will get right to work with Quiet Riot, fronting the band on its Fall 2026 US tour, as well as a run of 2027 shows in the US and Latin America. Pick up tickets via Ticketmaster or the band’s official website.
