Anne Hathaway's "glorious" dinosaur thriller is now available to watch at home

The End of Oak Street, the new Anne Hathaway film where a family from the 1980s find themselves transported back in time to the era of the dinosaurs, is available to watch at home now.

Although the film is still showing in cinemas, it's now available to purchase or rent digitally from outlets such a Prime Video and Apple TV.

The current rent price is £15.99, while the purchase price is £19.99 and includes a few bonus features.

At the time of writing, the film has made slightly over $118 million on the back of a budget reportedly between $80 million and $92 million.

While it may not have been a huge commercial smash, it's done well with critics, sitting at a very impressive 86% positive on Rotten Tomatoes. The common consensus seems to be that the film tries to be a throwback to classic Steven Spielberg and is enjoyable for that reason alone.

"The End of Oak Street is nothing more — or less — than a swift, satisfying exercise in fight-or-flight suspense entertainment," wrote The Ringer. "It's an escapist adventure with enjoyably ropy special effects and a nasty visceral kick."

Australian outlet The Nightly said: "This is a movie that knows what it is, and what it is, is Hathaway in full mum mode, firing a shotgun at a dinosaur while running in sandals. It's glorious."

"This movie is Spielbergian to its core, and writer-director David Robert Mitchell pays tribute to the king of the blockbuster with all the thrilling set pieces and kids in peril that fans could ever hope for," said Inverse, while IndieWire and The Hollywood Reporter both called it a "homage" to Spielberg's Amblin Entertainment.

Vulture called the film "a perfect example of what the big studios should be doing right now — making original spectacles, ideally ones in which Anne Hathaway fires a rifle at a velociraptor."

The End of Oak Street is still out in cinemas, but can also be purchased and rented digitally.
