Lzzy Hale Rails Against “Sick Monsters” in Wake of Cornell University Case: “We Don’t Want Your Kind”

Halestorm frontwoman Lzzy Hale has spoken out in the wake of the Cornell University case in which several members of a fraternity are accused of sexually assaulting a young woman.
The case has made national headlines, with the woman, identified as “Jane Doe,” alleging that she was raped by multiple members of Cornell’s Chi Phi fraternity during one night in October 2024. A criminal investigation is being led by New York Attorney General Letitia James.
Without mentioning Cornell University specifically, but clearly referring to that case, Hale posted the following message on her Instagram account:
“If you are the kind of man who thinks it’s ok to reduce another human being to nothing more than something you can stick your d*ck into… there is something severely wrong with you. You are not a ‘promising young man’, you are a sick monster that needs to be punished and prevented from having contact with other humans. And if you are the kind of man who stands idly by while witnessing a r*pe (yes even if you saw it in a group chat you are still a witness to that r*pe), and choose to do nothing/say nothing… you are Not “the good guy” you are an accessory to the sexual assault and also need to be brought to justice, because we don’t want your kind walking among us either.”
She added in the caption, “And if you are in a position of power to hold these men accountable for their actions and e do nothing, take their side, or let them off with a fucking ‘writing assignment’, you should be stripped of your power and privilege of walking among us.”
Halestorm wrap up their 2026 touring with a show in Rancho Mirage, California, tonight (October 2nd), but the band already has a number of European festival dates scheduled for Summer 2027.
