Country music star Shane Smith is setting the internet on fire with a cover of a legendary song.

Shane Smith is known for being the lead singer of Shane Smith & The Saints, which is a country band whose music has heavy influences of red dirt and Americana.

While they might not have the commercial recognition of someone like Morgan Wallen, there's no question Shane Smith and his band have an incredibly loyal following and they pump out some of the best music in the genre.

I think that's a very impressive performance of "Hurt." It's every bit as ominous as Johnny Cash's legendary version.

People in the comments were quick to offer lots of different reactions. One person wrote, "I love all 3 renditions of this song and am a fan of all three artists. Well done Shane!"

A second wrote, "Great cover!!"

A third added, "Awesome performance!"

Seems like everyone is in agreement.
