‘The Great British Bake Off’ Host Alison Hammond Says She’s ‘Fine’ After Heart Palpitation Scare on Live U.K. Morning Show

“The Great British Bake Off” co-host Alison Hammond is reassuring fans that she’s “fine” after making a swift exit from her gig on ITV’s “This Morning” due to a health scare.

“Hello, my lovelies,” Hammond said in a video posted to her Instagram Stories later Friday. In the clip, which is overlaid with the text “Anything to have a day off,” Hammond is seen lying down in a bed wearing a hospital gown.

“I know you’re all worried about me. Honestly, I am fine, first of all,” Hammond says. “But I’m getting my old ticker checked out. I had a little bit of a palpitation, and now I’m getting it all checked out. But I think I’m OK. I’m hoping it was just a little panic attack or something like that. I love you all. Thank you for all your lovely messages.”

Hammond was on screen with “This Morning” co-host Dermot O’Leary when she experienced the episode, and after the following ad break, O’Leary told viewers she had to “duck out” because she was feeling “unwell.”

In her video, Hammond went on to apologize to ITV’s “This Morning” for having to exit the show unexpectedly due to the scare.

“I’m so sorry I left you. I would never normally do that,” Hammond said. “I would never leave a TV show. So you know I wasn’t very well. But hopefully, I’m going to be all right. The doctors are so lovely, and they’re checking me out. And hopefully, everything’s going to be fine. I love you. Everything is fine. Look, I’m rocking it. Look how good I look. Still got my makeup on from this morning!”
