However, the Cherries are only willing to consider the 23-year-old’s sale under specific conditions.

Standard Sport understands that Bournemouth are open to selling their prized midfielder in the January transfer window if an offer of more than £100million comes in. Bournemouth sources say a sale will only happen in January if Premier League survival is looking likely.

It is said that Chelsea and Liverpool would be well-placed for the central midfielder if either were to pursue their long-standing interest in the England international born in Guernsey.

Chelsea are interested in adding a midfielder to their squad after Enzo Fernandez’s £125million sale to Manchester City and are staying alert to the market ahead of January.

They were left dashed at the last when Monaco pulled out of a written agreement via email to sell Lamine Camara on deadline day in September with just minutes left before the window shut.

Chelsea bid for Scott more than once in the summer at around the £65m mark but were consistently turned away as Bournemouth told them he was not for sale.

He has rejected offers of a new contract with the Cherries, who are aware of how much interest he has attracted from top clubs in England.

An openness to consider selling Scott in January marks a significant change of Bournemouth’s stance which, until now, had been a blanket refusal to consider allowing the 23-year-old to leave.
