KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 25 — A 32-year-old woman with a hearing disability died after the Honda Jazz she was driving crashed into the rear of a lorry at KM32 of Jalan Johor Bahru-Air Hitam here early today.

The woman, who worked as a general worker at a technology park in Kulai, suffered severe head injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene, while the 66-year-old local lorry driver sustained minor injuries, Utusan Malaysia reported.

Kulai district police chief Assistant Commissioner Tan Seng Lee said police received information about the crash at about 6.15am.

“Initial police investigations found that the accident is believed to have occurred when the Honda Jazz driven by the victim, travelling from Kulai Besar towards Johor Bahru, lost control.

“The woman’s car then crashed into the rear of a lorry driven by a 66-year-old local man who was stopped at a traffic light,” he said in a statement.

Tan said the case was being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
