‘Dancing With the Stars’ Sets Super Bowl Night

Dancing With the Stars is bringing the Super Bowl to the ballroom for a special theme night in honor of the big game.

It was announced on Good Morning America Wednesday morning that the Tuesday, Oct. 13 episode of the reality series will officially be Super Bowl Night. Couples will dance to iconic songs performed in various former Super Bowl shows.

ABC did not announce which songs from former Super Bowl performers will be featured on DWTS Super Bowl Night, but it’s estimated that 11 couples will still be in the competition by the Oct. 13 episode.

Super Bowl Night precedes Super Bowl LXI, which will air on ABC and ESPN Sunday, Feb. 14, 2027.

Dancing With the Stars is no stranger to having NFL players on its cast; plenty of former players have appeared on the show, and four have won mirrorball trophies. Among those winners are Emmitt Smith (season three), Hines Ward (season 12), Donald Driver (season 14) and Rashad Jennings (season 24).

Notably, when Andy Richter announced the theme nights for DWTS season 35, the Oct. 13 episode slot was left untitled, leaving much anticipation for Wednesday’s announcement. Super Bowl Night joins a list of upcoming theme nights including Mariah Carey Night, Dedication Night, Horror Movie Night, Disney Night and Grammy Night.

During Tuesday night’s Yacht Rock-themed episode, Taylor Hanson and Britt Stewart were eliminated from the show. Amber Glenn and Harry Shum Jr. respectively became the first celebrities to earn eights from the judges, heating up the competition.

Season 35 of Dancing With the Stars airs Tuesdays at 8 p.m., simulcasting across ABC and Disney+ and streaming the next day on Hulu. Check out all of The Hollywood Reporter‘s DWTS coverage here.
