Sean 'Diddy' Combs moved to Pennsylvania federal prison after reports of luxury lifestyle and fight behind bars, spokesperson says, 'We hope that his time at the new facility will be productive'

Hip-hop mogul Sean 'Diddy' Combs has been shifted to a federal prison in Pennsylvania. The move follows reports that he was enjoying a lavish lifestyle and had been hurt in a fight at his New Jersey lockup.

Sean 'Diddy' Combs moved to FCI Allenwood Low

As per the Associated Press report, the Bureau of Prisons is transferring the 56-year-old from FCI Fort Dix to FCI Allenwood Low. The low-security facility is south of Williamsport, about 155 miles (250 kilometres) west of New York City. The Bureau of Prisons confirmed the transfer but gave no other details. It said it does not discuss the conditions of confinement for anyone in its custody, including reasons for a transfer, citing privacy, safety and security.Sean 'Diddy' Combs’ spokesperson, Juda Engelmayer, said, “Decisions about inmate placement are made by the BOP, and we are not in a position to speak to the circumstances surrounding this transfer. Sean remains focused on moving forward, and we hope that his time at the new facility will be productive and without unnecessary disruption.”

Why Sean 'Diddy' Combs is in prison

Sean 'Diddy' Combs is serving a four-year, two-month sentence. He was convicted last year on prostitution-related charges for taking people across state lines for sexual encounters.

The trial included shocking testimony about violence and parties he called “freak-offs”, and it was a strong reckoning for one of the most influential names in music and entertainment.

Reports of luxury and a fight

Last month, NBC News reported that Combs was still enjoying parts of his millionaire lifestyle at Fort Dix. The report claimed he smuggled in Hennessy and had other inmates cook, clean, make his bed and give him massages. It also said he used a contraband cell phone to look at social media and an ex-girlfriend’s nude selfies. On Wednesday, TMZ reported that Sean 'Diddy' Combs was hurt in a fight with another inmate and was taken out of the prison for treatment. The Bureau of Prisons rejected this in a rare rebuttal, telling the AP, “The story you are referring to is false and did not happen.”

Disciplinary action and appeal

After the NBC report, Sean Combs was moved to the prison’s special housing unit. It is a heavily secured area, away from other inmates, for those with disciplinary or security issues. He also lost 41 days of good-conduct credit, which pushes his release date back to March 2, 2028, according to the person familiar with the matter. In April, the 2nd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals heard Diddy attempt to overturn his conviction and sentence. His lawyers argued that the sentence was too harsh. The court has not yet given its ruling.
