A woman believed to be the mother of a baby found in a Sydney bin last month has been arrested, police say.
Emergency services were called to Harrow Road, Auburn, at 11:20am on August 31 after reports a baby's body was discovered in a garbage bin.
In a statement today, NSW Police said a 24-year-old woman "believed to be the mother of the infant" was located and taken to hospital for assessment.
"Upon release from hospital, the woman was arrested and taken to Auburn Police Station where inquiries are continuing," it read.
