Shakira Adds One Final Concert to Madrid Residency After Breaking Amazon Music Livestream Record

Translate

Shakira isn’t quite ready to say goodbye to Madrid. The Colombian superstar has added one final date to her ongoing European residency in the Spanish capital, extending the run through October 12th.

Billed as a “Grand Farewell with Friends,” the newly announced concert will take place at Estadio Shakira at Iberdrola Music and promises special guests who have yet to be revealed. The show extends what had previously been a 12-date residency to 13 concerts and will serve as the final Madrid performance of her “Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran World Tour.”

Tickets for the newly added October 12th show will first be available through an artist pre-sale beginning Tuesday, October 6th at 9:00 a.m. ET via Ticketmaster, with the general on-sale following Wednesday, October 7th at 4:00 a.m. ET.

The announcement arrives after her Saturday concert was broadcast globally by Amazon Music, Prime Video, and Twitch as her first-ever full-concert global livestream. According to Billboard, the broadcast became Amazon Music’s most-watched livestream ever by a female artist. The night also featured a surprise appearance from Dua Lipa, who joined Shakira for a performance of “Antología.”

The Madrid residency marks Shakira’s first performances in Spain in eight years and her only European residency on the current tour. The run has also featured guest appearances from Alejandro Sanz, Laura Pausini, and Manuel Turizo, among others.
