Media Prima Club extends aid to two Sabah firefighters

Translate

KOTA KINABALU: Media Prima Club (MPC) has provided financial assistance to two Sabah firefighters facing health problems under its corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative.

The visits were held in conjunction with Jelajah Akinabalu 4095: Sinergi Dua Entiti, organised by MPC in collaboration with Agrobank.

One recipient was Dahlan Saharom, 40, who suffers from haemothorax, a condition in which blood accumulates in the space between the lungs and chest wall.

Dahlan was among the first rescue personnel deployed to the site of the 2015 Sabah earthquake.

Harian Metro news editor Mohd Jamilul Anbia handed the contribution to Dahlan's wife, Syazwani Haimin, 35, in the presence of MPC representative Fazli Ahmad.

Another recipient was firefighter Abdul Zaid Quddus Abdul Salam, who had suffered a stroke and received assistance under the same initiative.

Berita Harian news editor Nazura Ngah handed the contribution to Abdul Zaid's younger sister, Sharifah Abdul Salam, yesterday.

The expedition involved 26 MPC participants, including representatives from Berita Harian, Harian Metro, New Straits Times and TV3, as well as seven Agrobank staff members.

The expedition was organised in collaboration with the Agrobank Club.

The group set out to climb Mount Kinabalu, starting from Timpohon Gate and proceeding to Panabalan before continuing to the summit early today.

The programme also received support from the Sabah Fire and Rescue Department.

The collaboration between MPC and the Agrobank Club aimed to give staff from both organisations an opportunity to take part in challenging outdoor activities, test their physical endurance and foster teamwork.
