Heavy rains to drench parts of Luzon Wednesday afternoon

MANILA, Philippines — Heavy to intense rains may pound Metro Manila and other parts of Luzon on Wednesday afternoon due to localized thunderstorms, the state weather bureau said.

In its thunderstorm advisory issued at 2:37 p.m., the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said heavy to intense rain showers with lightning and strong winds may affect the following areas within the next two to three hours:

• Metro Manila (Las Pinas, Muntinlupa, Paranaque, Taguig, Makati, and Pasay)
• Bataan (Morong, Dinalupihan, Hermosa, Orani, Orion, Pilar, Samal, Limay, Balanga, and Abucay)
• Batangas (Agoncillo, Balayan, Balete, Bauan, Calaca, Calatagan, Cuenca, Ibaan, Laurel, Lemery, Lian, Lipa, Lobo, Mabini, Malvar, Mataasnakahoy, Nasugbu, Padre Garcia, Rosario, San Juan, San Luis, San Nicolas, Santa Teresita, Taal, Taysan, Tingloy, and Tuy)
• Bulacan (Angat, Balagtas, Bocaue, Bulakan, Bustos, Malolos, Dona Remedios Trinidad, Guiguinto, Hagonoy, Norzagaray, Pandi, Paombong, Plaridel, San Rafael, Santa Maria, San Ildefonso, San Miguel, Calumpit, Pulilan, and Baliuag)
• Nueva Ecija (Carranglan, Pantabangan, Gapan, Penaranda, San Jose, and Lupao)
• Pampanga (Masantol, Floridablanca, Porac, Apalit, and Macabebe)
• Quezon (Candelaria, Dolores, San Antonio, Sariaya, Tiaong, General Nakar, Tayabas, Lucban, Lucena, Mauban, Pagbilao, Sampaloc, Agdangan, Alabat, Atimonan, Buenavista, Burdeos, Calauag, Guinayangan, Jomalig, Lopez, Padre Burgos, Panukulan, Patnanungan, Perez, Plaridel, Polillo, Quezon, Unisan, San Andres, and San Narciso)
• Rizal (Angono, Binangonan, Cardona, Jala-Jala, Pililla, and Teresa), Zambales (Candelaria, Iba, Masinloc, Palauig, San Antonio, and San Narciso)
• Cavite
• Laguna

Meanwhile, similar weather conditions are being experienced in the following areas and may continue within the next two to three hours:

• Bataan (Bagac and Mariveles)
• Batangas (Tanauan, Talisay, Santo Tomas, Alitagtag, Batangas City, San Jose, and San Pascual), Bulacan (Meycauayan, Obando, Marilao, and San Jose del Monte)
• Quezon (Tagkawayan, General Luna, Gumaca, Macalelon, Mulanay, San Francisco, Catanauan, Infanta, Pitogo, and Real)
