This year sees The Legend of Zelda franchise celebrate its 40th anniversary and, as such, fans have been treated to all manner of exciting announcements. Not only can we look forward to a Zelda-inspired live-action movie which is set to hit cinemas on 30 April 2027, but Nintendo finally gave us the goods earlier this year when they finally announced The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Remake, which is set to launch in just a few weeks on 5 November.

Amongst the major announcements, we have been treated to news of brand-new merchandise and upcoming collections, and it seems as though Nintendo is not finished with the big reveals, as now, The Legend of Zelda: Master Collection has been unveiled.

With over 40 years of history under its belt, it is no wonder that the Zelda universe is full to the brim with stories to tell, with each spanning across locations, eras, styles, and timelines. After all, there is nothing we enjoy more than getting to experience nostalgia, and with it being four decades since the launch of The Legend of Zelda, now is the perfect time to take a trip down memory lane.

The Legend of Zelda: Master Collection aims to do exactly that by celebrating all of the different stories that make up the franchise we know and love to this day. Covering the franchise as a whole, rather than focusing on one particular game, it will cover all of our favorite entries, including:

  • The Legend of Zelda
  • The Adventures of Link
  • A Link to the Past
  • Link's Awakening
  • Ocarina of Time
  • Majora's Mask
  • Oracle of Seasons
  • Oracle of Ages
  • Four Swords
  • The Wind Waker
  • Four Swords Adventures
  • The Minish Cap
  • Twilight Princess
  • Phantom Hourglass
  • Spirit Tracks
  • Skyward Sword
  • A Link Between WorldsTri Force Heroes
  • Breath of the Wild
  • Tears of the Kingdom
  • Echoes of Wisdom

All that is well and good, but what is The Legend of Zelda: Master Collection, you may ask? Well, this upcoming release is a trading card game collection made in collaboration with Italian company Panini, which is best known for their trading card collections and stickers.

As such, the collection will include stunning art dedicated to all of the aforementioned titles in The Legend of Zelda franchise, as well as feature some of our favorite characters such as Link and Zelda, of course, and cards will be dedicated to the likes of favorites such as Wind Waker, Ocarina of Time, and even newer entries such as the 'Wilds' duology.

It will launch alongside a dedicated album which will be perfect for you to keep and protect your cards, and Panini has also released an image of the stunning box art we can expect to see the cards in. However, Nintendo is yet to reveal much about this upcoming launch, including the number of cards, their price, and distribution details. That being said, there is no denying that The Legend of Zelda: Master Collection will be a must-buy for fans, not just because it will appeal to the collectors out there, but because it will offer us never-before-seen art of some of our favorite Zelda eras over the past 40 years.
