Enugu Local Elections: APC’s Ferdinand Ukwueze receives party flag for Igbo-Eze South

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has presented its flag to Ugo Ferdinand Ukwueze, its chairmanship candidate for Igbo-Eze South Local Government Area in the 2026 Enugu State local elections.
The symbolic event took place at the Igbo-Eze South Council Secretariat on 1 September as the state prepares for the 26 September elections.
Dr Martins Chukwunweike, the APC State Chairman in Enugu, presented the flag to Mr Ukwueze, who is the current chairman of Igbo-Eze South council.
The 16 APC councillorship candidates for the council area also received the party flags.
‘Reaffirmation of mandate’
“It is a reaffirmation of the mandate entrusted to us by the good people of Igbo-Eze South Local Government Area and a call to greater responsibility,” Mr Ukwueze wrote on Facebook about the event.
“It is equally a validation of our collective belief in purposeful leadership and the possibilities that arise when governance is driven by vision and sincerity of purpose.
Today, with the party flag in our hands, the mandate to serve our people has assumed an even greater responsibility.”
Mr Ukwueze said it was particularly pleasing to have in attendance the Senator representing Enugu North Senatorial District, Distinguished Senator Ikeje Asogwa; the Member representing Nsukka/Igbo-Eze South Federal Constituency, Hon. Chidi Mark Obetta; the Member representing Udenu/Igbo-Eze North Federal Constituency, Hon. Denis Agbo; and other leaders and stakeholders who added colour to the event.
“Let me reiterate that the task ahead of us remains to legislate and execute policies and programmes that will advance our Progress Agenda and translate our vision for grassroots development into tangible outcomes for our people.
“We owe profound gratitude to His Excellency, Dr Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, whose visionary leadership, commitment to good governance, and confidence in our capacity to deliver at the grassroots inspire a new culture of service and accountability in Igbo-Eze South LGA and across Enugu State.
“His Excellency’s support and the trust reposed in us remain a source of motivation as we continue to align with the broader developmental aspirations of his administration,” he added.
The chairmanship candidate thanked the APC leadership, the party executives at all levels, the youths, women, stakeholders and the entire APC family across Igbo-Eze South for the confidence reposed in him and the councillorship candidates.
“As we set to officially commence our campaign activities ahead of the 26 September 2026 Local Government Council Election in Enugu State, let us remain united and peaceful.
“We will campaign. We will engage our people. And we will present our record, our vision and our plans with confidence,” he said.
