The Legend of Zelda is going through a very exciting time as a franchise right now, and much of the attention from fans is firmly focused in on the upcoming release of the Ocarina of Time Remake in November. The fact remains, though, that we still have around a month to fill until the big day (at the time of writing), and there are several options on the table if you want to stick to the series for that.
The most recent game in the 3D range, despite its 2023 release, remains Tears of the Kingdom, while we wait to hear more from Nintendo about what they plan to do next. If that sounds like the best course of action for the time being, there is a new piece of DLC available, and you get it by picking up one of the ever widening selection of amiibos.
Over on the Nintendo website, you should be able to find the product page for the Mineru's Construct amiibo, which has just released to players at home. Essentially functioning as a miniature representation of the rideable Zonai exosuit it comes with a bunch of poseable bells and whistles that help it stand out as customizable, just as it is in the base game.
In sharing a little about what fans can expect from the amiibo if they do decide to commit to the purchase, Nintendo posted the following description:
"Mineru is one of the Sages in The Legend of Zelda™: Tears of the Kingdom. She is King Rauru’s elder sister and helped her brother fight the Demon King in her role as the Sage of Spirit long ago. She now helps Link in the present day through this Zonai construct.
"This figure has articulated arms that you can move around and pose how you like. It also lets you receive random items in the Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, and The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom games. You may even receive a special fabric for Link’s paraglider in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom."
As with all of the amiibos, all you have to do in this case is scan it on the NFC reader and you should be automatically rewarded with the in-game items above for your Tears of the Kingdom save. The fun doesn't stop there, though, as the amiibo also drops some really cool items for other Nintendo games outside the series.
Those include a Link Mii racing outfit for Mario Kart 8, while it also allows you to add Mineru as a villager in Animal Crossing: New Horizons and allows Grams to sell Zelda-themed items.
Outside of that, we also have the big budget Zelda feature film releasing in April 2027, which should mean that fans will be pretty happy for a while to come. What's next for the main single-player series beyond that remains to be seen, but don't expect to wait too long once the dust settles down on Ocarina and the new movie.
