Translate

The remand of a 16-year-old boy suspected of murdering a female student at a school in Yong Peng has been extended by six days, from tomorrow until Oct 15.

The extension was granted by magistrate Aimi Nawwar Othman at the magistrates’ court here today.

The teenager was previously remanded for six days from Oct 4 to assist in the investigation into the death of Irene Sofiya Khairool Faisal, 16.

The Form 4 student, a classmate of the suspect, was found unconscious and covered in blood in the school hall at about 5.50pm on Oct 3. She was later pronounced dead.

Her body was sent to Sultanah Nora Ismail Hospital for a post-mortem examination.

Police said the case is being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.
