The 20th edition of the Asian Games will begin on September 19 in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan.
Thirty-eight Indian athletes out of the 501 travelling to Japan will be taking part in canoe slalom, canoe sprint, sailing and rowing events in this edition of the continental showpiece.
Indian paddlers won one bronze at Hangzhou 2023, through Arjun Singh and Sunil Singh Salam in the men’s C-2 1000m canoe sprint. Neither paddler features in the latest squad.
Rowing contributed two silver and three bronze medals in China. Arvind Singh, Jakar Khan, Satnam Singh Ghurde, Jaswinder Singh and Babu Lal Yadav have been retained for the 2026 edition.
In sailing, India had clinched two bronze and one silver medal in Hangzhou.
