Dhanush’s 'D56' reportedly titled ‘Padayal’, to begin with pooja ceremony on September 17

Tamil superstar Dhanush has multiple films in his pipeline, including ‘OM’ with director Rajkumar Periasamy. As the film is set to hit the big screen next month, the latest buzz suggests that his next upcoming action entertainer, tentatively referred to as ‘D56’, has reportedly been titled ‘Padayal’.According to a report by Valai Pechu, the film is likely to be titled ‘Padayal’. The movie is expected to be produced under Dhanush’s home banner, Wunderbar Films. The pooja ceremony is reportedly scheduled to take place on September 17.

‘Padayal’ to be a rural actioner

As per the report, ‘Padayal’ will be a rural action film set against a violent backdrop. The film is said to have a raw and intense setting, with the story reportedly revolving around action and violence.Given its reported violent content, the film is also expected to be on the lines of the ‘Pushpa’ films and could receive an A certificate. However, these details are based on reports at the moment, and the makers have not officially confirmed the title, plot or certification.

Dhanush’s recent and upcoming films

Talking about Dhanush, he was last seen in ‘Kara’, an action thriller directed by Vignesh Raja. The film follows Karasamy, a reformed thief who is forced to return to his old ways to reclaim his mortgaged ancestral land and fulfil his father’s final wish.

His next release is ‘OM’, an action drama featuring Mammootty, Sai Pallavi, Sreeleela and Naseeruddin Shah. Sai Abhyankkar has composed the songs and background score, and the film is planned as the first part of a two-part franchise.The film is set for a theatrical release on October 17. Interestingly, it will clash with Rajinikanth’s ‘Jailer 2’, which is scheduled to release on October 15.In addition to this, Dhanush has also announced his next collaboration with director Vetrimaaran, titled ‘Thamizh Murugan’.
