Jamshedpur FC’s journey in Indian football might have not ended yet after it kept its hopes of making the Durand Cup 2026 quarterfinals alive with a thumping 6-0 win over Indian Air Force at the Birsa Munda Football Stadium on Thursday.
Youngster Lawmsangzuala came off the bench to score a hat-trick as winger Aman CK shone with a flurry of assists.
As it stands, the Men of Steel have jumped to second in the rankings of the second-placed teams, behind East Bengal.
The match between Shillong Lajong and Langsning later in the day will have a bearing on Jamshedpur’s future in the competition. If Lajong draws or wins, then Jamshedpur will advance.
However if Langsning, which currently has four points with a game in hand, wins then it books a spot in the quarterfinals.
