Senator Solomon Adeola, popularly known as Yayi, has visited President Bola Tinubu in Lagos, where he appreciated the President’s support for Ogun State projects.
Adeola, who is seeking the governorship ticket of the All Progressives Congress in Ogun State, in a post on Facebook on Monday, said he took time away from his ongoing mobilisation and consultations for his candidacy and other APC candidates to meet with Tinubu following the President’s return from vacation.
The visit provided an opportunity for the senator to discuss issues concerning Ogun State as well as matters relating to the Federal Government’s ongoing programmes and policies.

Adeola said he used the meeting to personally appreciate Tinubu for his support for major projects in Ogun State, including the proposed Gateway Deep Seaport and the Ogun State Blue Marine Special Economic Zone.
He also noted that the discussions extended beyond state projects to other issues of national interest connected with the implementation of the administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
“I took away sometime from my mobilization and consultation for my candidacy for Governor of Ogun State and all other candidates of APC to visit our dear president, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR, C-in-C of the Armed Forces of Nigeria since his return from vacation.”

The senator has been campaigning for the APC governorship ticket in Ogun State ahead of the 2027 election, while also mobilising support for other candidates of the party.
The Gateway Deep Seaport and the proposed Ogun State Blue Marine Special Economic Zone are among the projects Adeola highlighted as part of the Federal Government’s support for the state.
He said the meeting was therefore also an opportunity to acknowledge Tinubu’s role in supporting the projects and discuss their ongoing implementation.
“I used the occasion to personally appreciate his support for Ogun State in the MOU of $7billion for Gateway Deep Seaport and Ogun State Blue Marine Special Economic Zone as well as other matters of National Interest relating to ongoing implementation of the Renewed Hope Agenda.”

Adeola, who represents Ogun West Senatorial District, said he remained optimistic about the prospects of the country under the APC-led administration, linking his optimism to what he described as reforms being implemented by the government.
“The future is bright as the reformist agenda of APC has laid a solid foundation for growth and prosperity.”

The meeting also brought together senior political figures from the Federal and Lagos State governments, with the Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila, and Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, in attendance.
