Timothy Olyphant’s Hit New Series Officially Sets Free Streaming Release At The Perfect Time

Translate

Jeff Dodge (he/him), a published author and graduate of Western Washington University, has been a TV news editor for many years and has had the chance to interview multiple reality show stars, including Randy Jackson, Nick Cannon, Heidi Klum, Mel B and John Cena. Fun Fact: he’s been to every single Idol Live! Tour.

Before Timothy Olyphant's hit sports comedy Stick returns for season 2 next month, season 1 will be available to stream for free, but not on Apple TV.

Stick debuted in 2025, with Olyphant playing Clark Ross, a rival to Owen Wilson's Pryce Cahill. The series takes place in the world of professional golf. Pryce is a has-been athlete, but he's still in the arena as a mentor to up-and-comer Santi Wheeler. Stick season 2 premieres November 4, as Pryce attempts a major comeback.

Until Stick season 2 premieres, TV viewers who want to check out the series but don't have Apple TV will be able to stream the first season for free on Samsung TV Plus starting October 21 in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, and Australia. This free access will be available for a limited time.

With more than 100 million users a month, Samsung TV Plus is a free, ad-supported streaming service available on Samsung Smart TVs and devices, with 5,000 ad-supported linear channels, thousands of On-Demand films and shows, original content, and live events. The streaming platform launched in 2015 and expanded to web browsers in 2021.

As Netflix, Disney+, and other streamers keep raising subscription prices, FAST channels have become more popular because they're free, even if viewers have to sit through ads. Some prominent free streaming services include Tubi, Pluto TV, and The Roku Channel.

Over the past decade, Samsung TV Plus has risen to become one of the most popular FAST channels, and users can now stream Stick for free on the platform for a limited time.

Olyphant had a recurring role during Stick season 1, but he's been promoted to a series regular for the second season. He and Wilson star alongside Peter Dager, Lilli Kay, Mariana Treviño, Marc Maron and Judy Greer, with Rhea Seehorn, Billy Zane and John Higgins joining them for season 2.

Critics gave Stick season 1 positive reviews, with a Certified Fresh score of 81% on Rotten Tomatoes. Reviews have praised Wilson's performance as Pryce for making the character so lovable, and compared Stick's positivity to Ted Lasso.

Earlier this month, Apple TV released the official trailer for Stick season 2, which teases Pryce going all in on his comeback, as he hires a coach named Amanda (Seehorn) to help him reach his goal.

Interestingly, Pryce's rival, Clark, encourages him to go for it. It's too soon to tell whether that support is genuine, but it means Olyphant will be appearing more often on screen when Stick returns.

Stick season 2 premieres Wednesday, November 4 on Apple TV.
