Kano State Governor, Abba Yusuf, has commended President Bola Tinubu for prioritising major infrastructure projects expected to strengthen transportation, trade and economic development in Northern Nigeria.

The governor made the commendation while representing the President at the commissioning of Section III of the Abuja–Kaduna–Zaria–Kano Expressway on Wednesday.

“At this juncture, I have to commend President Bola Tinubu for prioritising major infrastructure projects to strengthen transportation, trade and other economic activities for the development of the North,” Governor Yusuf said.

He noted that efficient road infrastructure was essential to connecting communities, facilitating the movement of goods and services, and improving the business environment.

“The Kano–Zaria corridor is particularly important because of Kano’s role as a major commercial and industrial centre serving several states across the North.

“Improved transportation links are expected to support agricultural production, expand market access and create better opportunities for traders, transport operators and other businesses,” he said.

Yusuf said sustained investment in critical infrastructure would contribute to economic growth and improve the movement of people and goods across the country.

He called for continued collaboration between the Federal Government and state governments to address infrastructure needs and accelerate development.
