It's been a rough week for Star Trek fans after the passing of the legendary Sir Patrick Stewart, who died on October 28 at the age of 86. His portrayal of Captain Jean-Luc Picard in Star Trek: The Next Generation defined an entire era of science fiction and was unquestionably one of television's most beloved characters and actors.

His eventual return in Star Trek: Picard would end up being his final appearance in the franchise, giving longtime fans a chance to reunite with a character who had meant so much to them. His passing is especially poignant as Star Trek celebrates its 60th anniversary in 2026. Six decades after the original series debuted, the franchise remains a cultural phenomenon, with countless beloved characters and stories that continue to resonate with audiences across generations.

Fortunately, there's still plenty for fans to look forward to throughout the anniversary celebrations and honor the legend's memory, including a major November 13 release that brings Worf and several other iconic Klingon warriors back into the spotlight in an entirely new way.

Star Trek fans have a major new release to look forward to on November 13, 2026, when Magic: The Gathering officially launches its Star Trek Universes Beyond crossover. Among the most exciting additions is Klingon Fury, a brand-new Commander deck headlined by Worf, one of the most beloved characters from Star Trek: The Next Generation and Deep Space Nine.

The red, white, and black deck features 100 cards celebrating the Klingon Empire, including legendary warriors, iconic spacecraft, and several characters with important connections to Worf's history. Its centerpiece is Worf, Defiant Commander, a legendary creature card that introduces the franchise's aggressive combat style through the new Battlefront ability, rewarding players for attacking multiple opponents.

There's also an alternative commander, Kor, Cause of Vengeance, who allows players to sacrifice creatures to strengthen their attacks. Between the two commanders, Klingon Fury embraces the Empire's warrior culture, emphasizing relentless aggression and overwhelming opponents. According to Wizards of the Coast's official decklist, some of the most exciting featured cards include:

  • Kor, Cause of Vengeance
  • Martok, Hero of the Empire
  • Alexander, Ship's Fool
  • Kurn, Son of Mogh
  • Ambassador K'Ehleyr
  • Chancellor Gorkon
  • Kang, Suspicious Captain
  • Koloth, Tribble Hunter
  • Grilka, Widowed Warrior
  • Curzon Dax, Bound by Blood
  • Voq, Torchbearer
  • Korok, Liberated Rage
  • I.K.S. Negh'Var, Imperial Flagship
  • K't'inga-Class Battle Cruiser
  • The Sword of Kahless

Longtime fans will particularly appreciate the inclusion of Worf's son Alexander, his brother Kurn, and his former lover K'Ehleyr, alongside legendary Klingons like Martok and Kor. The collection draws from multiple eras of Star Trek, making it a substantial tribute to the Empire's history.

Each standard Commander deck includes 32 new-to-Magic cards, a foil commander, and double-sided tokens, with a suggested retail price of $74.99. Premium Collector's Editions feature surge foil versions of every card.

The larger crossover also introduces Play Boosters, Collector Boosters, and additional special releases, giving fans plenty of ways to celebrate Star Trek's 60th anniversary.
