KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 28 — Tabung Haji (TH) will open appeals for the 1448H/2027 Haj season via the THiJARI application and website from Oct 2, a month earlier than in the previous season.

TH Group managing director and chief executive officer Mustakim Mohamad said the earlier opening would give prospective pilgrims more time to prepare financially, physically and in terms of their knowledge of the Haj.

“The Haj payment for pilgrims selected through the appeal process is the full Haj cost of RM33,300 for the 1448H/2027 season, in line with the concept of istito’ah in fulfilling the obligation to perform the Haj.

“Applications are open to depositors who have at least RM15,000 in their respective TH accounts,” he said in a statement today.

Mustakim said TH had also introduced initiatives such as the #menujuistitoah campaign and the Seruan Istito’ah plan to help depositors prepare for the pilgrimage in a structured manner from an early stage.

Appeals to perform the Haj ahead of a depositor’s scheduled turn will be assessed based on merit criteria and scores, including the length of registration, age, average TH account balance, consistency of recurring savings, frequency of previous appeals and attendance at TH’s Basic Haj Course.

According to the statement, TH will also give priority to appeals involving mahram, companions of selected elderly pilgrims, and companions of selected persons with disabilities (PwD).

“The Haj payment for successful mahram or companion appeals will be based on the rate applicable to the selected pilgrim they are accompanying, according to the B40, M40 or T20 income group.

Meanwhile, prospective pilgrims are also reminded to make the necessary health preparations as approval of their applications is subject to medical screening.

Prospective pilgrims are also advised to equip themselves with sufficient knowledge of Haj rituals by attending TH’s Basic Haj Course, which will be conducted at more than 200 mosques nationwide from Sept 25.
