The Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) will field a refugee team at the upcoming Asian Games in Aichi and Nagoya in Japan.
The refugee team, which will be referred to as the Asian Refugee Team during the competition, comprises two athletes, both participating in taekwondo.
Mahmoud Aljasem Almohammad in the men’s 80kg event and Alhassan Alhinde Talah in the women’s 49kg are the two members of the Asian Refugee Team
If either of these two wins a medal at the Asian Games, the OCA flag and anthem will be used at the victory ceremony.
At the opening ceremony parade, the OCA Refugee Team will enter the stadium after the Yemen squad and before the host, Japan.
