New Zealand named a 16-member squad for the five match T20I series against India on Wednesday. Mitchell Santner will lead the team, while Rachin Ravindra, who dislocated his right shoulder during a promotional shoot last week, has been ruled out of the T20I series.
NZC in a statement said Ravindra will require atleast six weeks of rehabilitation, and he is expected to be fit for the ODI series starting on November 4 at Eden Park, Auckland. Bevon Jacobs has been included in the squad, possibly as Ravindra’s replacement.
As many as 13 members from the squad that finished runner-up to India in the T20 World Cup final will feature in the home series, including Michael Bracewell and Adam Milne, who both missed the tournament with injuries.
Milne, who last turned out for the national team against Zimbabwe over a year ago, is one of seven pacers in the squad, which includes the likes of Jacob Duffy, Matt Henry, Lockie Ferguson, Kyle Jamieson, Nathan Smith, and Zak Foulkes.
In the batting department, Finn Allen, Tim Seifert and Devon Conway are the openers, while Glenn Phillips, Daryl Mitchell, and Glenn Phillips make up the middle-order.
