FAM taps ex‑police deputy Ayob Khan to lead Integrity Committee

PETALING JAYA, Sept 30 — Former Deputy Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Ayob Khan Mydin Pitchay has been appointed as the Chairman of the Integrity Committee of the Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) for the remainder of the 2025-2029 term.

FAM President Datuk Ab Ghani Hassan stated that the appointment was among the decisions made during the Sixth FAM Executive Committee Meeting for the 2025-2029 term at Wisma FAM, Kelana Jaya, today.

He said that appointing individuals from outside the Executive Committee (Exco) for specific posts is based on their credibility and experience in related fields to strengthen the governing body’s administration.

“For the Integrity Committee, Tan Sri Ayob Khan Mydin Pitchay is appointed as chairman, and his deputy is the Director-General of the Malaysian Border Control and Protection Agency (MCBA), Datuk Seri Mohd Shuhaily Mohd Zain.”

Today’s meeting also witnessed the appointment of chairmen and deputy chairmen for 11 FAM standing committees to ensure that every field of national football management and development can be driven forward.

“We want individuals with credibility to administer these committees and ensure that FAM’s management and governance can be carried out as best as possible,” he said at a press conference after the meeting.

Ab Ghani said that apart from the Integrity Committee, FAM has also appointed experienced individuals from outside the Exco to lead the Referees Committee as well as the Stadium and Security Committee.

For the Stadium and Security Committee, Bukit Aman Internal Security and Public Order Director Datuk Seri Mohd Yusri Hassan Basri was appointed as chairman, while DCP Datuk Mohd Rozi Jidin serves as deputy chairman.

Meanwhile, Datuk N. Saaran was appointed as Chairman of the Legal Committee as well as Deputy Chairman of the Finance and Management Committee, while Datuk Seri Rosmadi Ismail heads the Technical and Development Committee and was appointed as Deputy Chairman of the National Football Team Management Committee.

Additionally, Ab Ghani said all standing committee chairmen have been given a period of seven working days to nominate their respective members to enable work at the committee level to commence.

In a related development, Ab Ghani confirmed that Datuk Noor Azman Rahman remains as the FAM Secretary-General, while Datuk Ismail Karim continues his duties as the FAM Treasurer.

He said the FAM Secretary-General’s contract runs until the end of next year, while the appointment of the FAM Treasurer has been extended for the remainder of the new leadership term. — Bernama
