5 Coronation Street spoilers for tonight as Jodie's cruel plan backfires

Coronation Street spoilers follow from Tuesday's episode (15 September), which is available to watch now on ITVX and YouTube but hasn't aired on ITV1 yet.

In tonight's Coronation Street, Jodie realises that her plan to push Shona out of the picture won't be as easy as she thought.

Meanwhile, Bethany has some bad news for Sarah, and the atmosphere between Tyrone and Ross gets even worse.

1. Jodie tries to replace Shona

Jodie tries to make herself indispensable at the Platt house, stepping in to help out while a struggling Shona gets some much-needed rest.

Shona is frustrated when she realises that David and Jodie have let her sleep in when there's work to be done, but they're quick to reassure her that everything is already under control.

2. David is injured when Jodie ups the ante

When Shona prepares a bath for baby Harper, Jodie slyly pours in boiling water from the kettle while nobody else is looking.

Jodie encourages David to test the water and feigns concern when he burns himself – with Shona getting the blame for the latest household mishap.

Still full of love for Shona, caring David decides that they both deserve some time to themselves. Jodie's frustrated that her efforts to turn David against Shona have backfired, so she realises that she'll have to up the ante...

3. Bethany drops a bombshell on Sarah

Bethany pays another visit to Sarah in prison, but the atmosphere becomes awkward when Sarah asks how Kit is doing.

Feeling guilty, Bethany explains that Kit has already started to move on, casually seeing other women now that he's single. Bethany suggests that Sarah would be better off forgetting about him. Is it only a matter of time before Sarah finds out about Kit and Bethany's one-night stand?

4. Tyrone is left upset by Ross's comments

Tyrone and Fiz join Ross and Tracy for a meal at the Bistro, but the conversation becomes tense when they discuss Tim's relative Richie being in prison.

Ross mocks Richie's claims that he was abused by his wife, declaring that something like that wouldn't happen to a "real" man. Understandably, Tyrone is reminded of his ordeal with Kirsty and reacts badly to Ross's offensive comments…

5. Summer questions Marco about his past

Summer confronts Marco for stealing her artwork and putting it on display at the tattoo shop. Marco cheekily reveals that it was all a ploy to get her attention – and it seems to have worked.

Summer reluctantly meets Marco for a drink, but decides to tread carefully as she quizzes Marco on why he has an ankle tag! Could she be asking for trouble by getting involved with him?
