!!! WARNING: THIS ARTICLE CONTAINS SPOILERS FOR DUNGEON CRAWLER CARL BOOK 9 !!!Donut's newest class for Book 9 will officially be Vibe Coder, an unusual upgrade revealed in the opening chapters of The Beautiful Place. It continues a tradition stretching back to Carl's Doomsday Scenario, when Donut chose the Former Child Actor class. That class's Character Actor ability lets her select a new specialty on each subsequent floor, giving her an ever-changing set of abilities. That puts her full class list across the series as follows:

Books 6 and 8 feature two class selections because their stories span multiple dungeon floors. And if you don't remember, the Oak Fell is a separate, additional class Donut receives during Book 7, not a replacement for Deathbed Hellcat.
For a quick refresher, at the end of A Parade of Horribles, Carl and Donut survived the tenth floor's racing gauntlet and the eleventh floor's deadly parade and arena showdown. They also emerged from the chaos with a rather unexpected new party member: Scolopendra, transformed into the level-one crawler Sexy Scolopendra. Their next destination is the twelfth floor and the Ascendency Games, where powerful deities will be competing for control.
In the new chapters, Donut discovers the class while reviewing her newest options, and it immediately stands out for granting a level-10 spell called Opposite Day. More importantly, it includes Backdoor Access, which Mordecai says allows her to tweak her existing spells to produce slightly different effects. She gets three slots for modified spells, opening the possibility of surprising combinations using powers she's accumulated throughout the series.

There's also a mysterious personal assistant included with the class, although the preview chapters don't explain much about this just yet. Mordecai recommends Vibe Coder over the hilarious alternative Nepo Baby, a competing class with a credit card that costs Charisma to use. Donut takes his advice and makes her choice.
The full potential of Opposite Day, Backdoor Access, and the assistant remains unknown. Considering how often Donut has turned ridiculous upgrades into essential survival tools, Vibe Coder could be one of her most interesting choices yet, especially with the Ascendency Games only just beginning. It's just one of the new updates readers have to be excited for when Book 9 of Dungeon Crawler Carl releases.
