India will begin its campaign at the Korea Open 2026, a BWF World Tour Super 500 tournament in Yeosu, on Wednesday with a depleted singles contingent, as H. S. Prannoy shoulders the men’s challenge in the absence of Lakshya Sen.
Prannoy, the sole Indian in the men’s singles main draw, will open against South Korea’s Yoo Tae Bin. The 2023 World Championships bronze medallist will look to make an impression after Sen withdrew from the tournament following his title-winning run at the Hylo Open in Germany.
P. V. Sindhu, who completed an Indian double by winning the women’s singles crown at the Hylo Open, has also opted out of the Korea Open. Her absence leaves young prospects Anmol Kharb and Tanvi Sharma to lead India’s women’s singles campaign. Anmol, who reached the semifinals in Germany, faces Canada’s Rachel Chan, while Tanvi takes on Japan’s Manami Suizu.
India will also have representation in mixed doubles, with Dhruv Rawat and K. Maneesha beginning their campaign against China’s Zhu Yi Jun and Li Qian.
