Acer celebrates 50th anniversary with musical performance

  • Acer Inc founder Stan Shih poses for a photograph ahead of a musical marking the company’s 50th anniversary in Taipei yesterday. The musical, “Smile for Half a Century,” brings together performers from the Cloud Gate Dance Theatre, OneSong Orchestra and Story Works to portray Acer’s half-century development through music, drama, dance and technology. The musical, which was broadcast live on YouTube, could let more international audiences know how Taiwan’s high-tech industry developed through Acer’s entrepreneurial journey, Shih said.
