Serie A | Frosinone 2-0 Torino: Canarini won’t stop flying high

ITALY - NOVEMBER 01: Antonio Raimondo of Frosinone Calcio sustains an injury to his left ankle during a challenge with Zakaria Aboukhlal of Torino FC and has to leave the pitch during the Serie A match between Frosinone Calcio and Torino FC at Stadio Benito Stirpe on November 01, 2026 in Italy. Frosinone continued their extraordinary form with a fifth consecutive home victory, as Fares Ghedjemis and Giacomo Calò disposed of Torino.
The Canarini were on stunning form, winning two of the last three games and drawing 4-4 with Atalanta in the other, scoring a whopping 13 goals in the process, with Florian Grillitsch the only absentee.
Toro saw their run of three straight wins ended by a 3-1 home defeat to Como in the midweek round. Alessio Cacciamani dislocated his shoulder in that game, joining Niccolò Fortini, Rolando Mandragora, Ricardo Rodriguez and Franco Israel on the treatment table.
See how it all unfolded on the Liveblog.

Ilario Monterisi nodded over from an early corner, while Saul Coco sprinted back for a decisive block on Antonio Raimondo and Fares Ghedjemis fired over.
Raimondo’s acrobatic overhead kick skimmed the crossbar and another first-time strike flashed inches wide, but their top scorer was forced off on the half-hour mark after badly turning his ankle in a bookable offence by Zakaria Aboukhlal.

Aboukhlal ran a big risk on the stroke of half-time when colliding heavily with Lorenzo Palmisani as the goalkeeper rushed outside his box to clear a long ball.
Giacomo Calò saw his free kick palmed away by Lucas Perri, but Frosinone broke the deadlock with the first ever Serie A goal for Fares Ghedjemis.
He started the move and was ready to sweep in the finish from just inside the area into the near bottom corner after Giorgi Kvernadze took on Nikola Vlasic for the lay-off.
Frosinone thought they had to double their lead on 63 minutes when Perri gave it away to Daniel Birligea under pressure, but Ghedjemis was denied by a truly desperate Saul Coco block, the defender throwing his body in the way from eight yards.

Vlasic drilled inches wide moments later, but Perri had to make up for a poor goal kick by making the double save on Birligea at the near post.
Gaetano Oristanio blasted not far over the bar from outside the area, while the Ghedjemis curler off the left foot shaved a coat of paint off the far post.
Giacomo Calò came even closer at the 86th minute, his strike from distance clipping the outside of the far post, and another Ghedjemis effort just wide.
Calò went close several times, eventually getting his goal in added time with a right-foot curler from the edge of the box into the near top corner.
Ghedjemis 48 (F), Calò 93 (F)
