NAGOYA, Japan, Sept. 29 (Yonhap) -- A day after going goldless at the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games, South Korea went back to its winning ways Tuesday -- picking up two gold medals in badminton and another in kurash.

World No. 1 An Se-young captured her second straight gold medal in the badminton women's singles. She defeated Akane Yamaguchi of Japan 2-0 (21-17, 21-9) to become the first women's singles player to win back-to-back Asiad gold medals.

Just minutes before An's triumph, Lee So-hee and Baek Hana won the women's doubles gold medal -- South Korea's first title in this event since 2002. They defeated Liu Shengshu and Tan Ning of China 2-1 (26-28, 21-18, 21-18).

The one other gold medal of the day for South Korea came from kurash, where Kim Min-young was crowned the champion in the women's +87-kilogram event. She beat Shih Liu Li-ling of Chinese Taipei 5-0.

Kim is the first South Korean gold medalist in kurash, a form of Central Asian wrestling added to the Asian Games in 2018.

These three gold medals raised South Korea's total to 24, now 20 back of Japan in third place.

The Asian Games will end Sunday.

Weightlifter Park Hye-jeong won her second straight medal in the women's heaviest division, +86-kilogram, with a total of 300kg. Park lifted 133kg in the snatch and 167kg in the clean and jerk. The total weight and the snatch weight are both new national records.

Also on Tuesday, South Korea saw two male boxers reach the gold medal bouts -- Jang Dong-hwan in the 60kg class and Kim Min-seong in the 80kg division.

Their finals are both set for Friday.

The women's football team lost to Japan 2-0 in the semifinals and fell to the bronze medal match against China on Friday. Japan will go on to take on North Korea for the second straight Asiad final, also Friday.

The men's handball team lost to Japan 37-32 in the bronze medal match, missing the podium for the second straight competition.
