James Norton confirmed as part of new presenting lineup for Saturday Night Live UK

Happy Valley and House of the Dragon star James Norton has been announced as one of the presenters of Saturday Night Live UK for October.

The actor, recently seen in the coming-of-age drama Sunny Dancer, will take to the stage on 17 October. Joining as a musical guest for that evening is The Streets, the project of singer and multi-instrumentalist Mike Skinner.

Also taking on hosting duties next month is Rivals star Danny Dyer. The former EastEnders star is hosting on 10 October, with singer-songwriter Sasha Keable as the musical guest.

Finally, Wicked star Cynthia Erivo is hosting the show on 24 October, which will see indie rock band Blossoms perform.

The comedy show is taking a break this weekend before coming back for three shows in October. It will then air its second half of the season early next year.

The special guests will take to the stage alongside SNL UK cast members, including Hammed Animashaun, Ayoade Bamgboye, Larry Dean, Celeste Dring, George Fouracres, Ania Magliano, Annabel Marlow, Freddie Meredith, Al Nash, Jack Shep, Emma Sidi and Paddy Young.

Previous presenters for this season were Erivo's Wicked co-star Jeff Goldblum, Chicken Shop Date presenter Amelia Dimoldenberg, and Stath Lets Flats star Jamie Demetriou.

A synopsis for the show, the UK version of the original American series launched in 1975, reads: "Broadcast live each week, the series will once again welcome a different celebrity host and musical guest for every episode, alongside topical sketches, live music performances and a British take on the iconic Weekend Update segment."
