Marvel Unveils Spider-Man: Brand New Day's Real Post-Credits Scene 2 Months Later

In a huge twist, the real post-credits scene for Spider-Man: Brand New Day has come two months after the movie's release. The fourth solo film for Tom Holland's Spider-Man swung into theaters on July 31, 2026, with a street-level, personal story built around Peter learning to balance his dual lives and save New York from, at different times, Jean Grey (Sadie Sink), the Hulk (Mark Ruffalo), and the Department of Damage Control.

As is typical for the MCU, Spider-Man: Brand New Day's ending wasn't really where the story concluded. The film left multiple plot threads unresolved to set up and tease future films. This includes the singular Spider-Man: Brand New Day post-credits scene, which showed Ned Leeds' (Jacob Batalon) SpideyTracker app detecting a Spider-Man off Earth.

The meaning of the tag has been hotly debated since then. Some believe it is a tease of Holland's Spider-Man being transported to Battleworld, thus teasing his role in 2026. Avengers: Secret Wars. Avengers Endgame: Encore's Hulk Post-Credits Scene Fits Spider-Man: Brand New Day Better

The last time audiences saw Bruce in Brand New Day, he was being taken away from the aftermath of the Damage Control fight, with the film later revealing he was admitted to a psych ward. However, Avengers Endgame: Encore's new footage shows him in an underground military base. He's in self-imposed isolation to stop Hulk from getting out or anyone else from getting in.

Bruce has been here for some time, as he sports a noticeable beard and longer hair and has been running new experiments on himself. His solitude is disturbed when Doctor Doom magically arrives in the base to "collect" the powerful Marvel hero. The scene allows audiences to hear, but not see, Hulk roaring as he's transported away.

Beyond confirming that Hulk is in Avengers: Doomsday, the credits sequence is the coda that Brand New Day was missing. The movie left Bruce's status as too big of a mystery. This scene directly wraps up one of the biggest characters' storylines while still delivering an exciting tease of the future.

Since Brand New Day only had one credits scene originally, this easily could have been included as a second. While we don't know exactly why it was attached to Avengers Endgame: Encore instead, it is not narratively connected to Hulk's arc in the movie. This is really a credits scene for Brand New Day.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day Not Having Encore's Hulk Credits Scene Is A Missed Opportunity

The prevailing theory is that this Hulk credits scene was not filmed by the time Brand New Day came out, making it impossible to include it there, with Ruffalo potentially only shooting the sequence as part of Doomsday's additional photography. The idea to shoot this scene at all might not have even occurred to Marvel until after Brand New Day, for all we know.

Whatever the reason may be for this Hulk scene not being at the end of Brand New Day, it's a clear missed opportunity for Marvel. The important tag is attached to a re-release that is poised to be seen by many, but the number of people watching it would be substantially larger if it were included in Spider-Man's $2.4 billion movie.

Given the incredibly hyped reactions the scene has already generated, Spider-Man: Brand New Day could have left fans on an even higher note with this Hulk reveal as its post-credits scene. Marvel Studios also would have gotten more people on board with Avengers: Doomsday and earlier on by making audiences feel like the MCU is properly building to its next event film.
