VEON launches Starlink mobile connectivity in Bangladesh, first in South Asia
- VEON (VEON) said its Banglalink unit has launched Starlink-powered satellite-to-mobile services in Bangladesh, making the country the first in South Asia to offer the technology.
- The service allows customers with compatible 4G phones and Banglalink SIM cards to access essential apps and location services beyond the reach of conventional mobile networks.
- The launch expands VEON’s satellite connectivity strategy, following Starlink service launches through Kyivstar in Ukraine in 2025 and Beeline Kazakhstan in September 2026.
