Dogs captured after attack on Brisbane man

Translate

Two dogs have been captured after a man was attacked in Brisbane's north overnight.

Emergency services were called to Kittyhawk Drive in Chermside just after 6pm on Friday evening after reports a man had been attacked by dogs.

They found a 37-year-old man with serious injuries to both arms, and two dogs fled the scene.

The man was taken to the Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital in a stable condition.

Police located and captured one of the dogs nearby a short time later with the assistance of a police helicopter.

The other dog remained at large overnight but was located and captured by police at an address in Wavell Heights this morning.

A spokesperson for Brisbane City Council said both dogs were registered at the same address and had not previously been declared dangerous.

"Both dogs involved are now in council possession and a decision on their future will be made as soon as possible," the spokesperson said.

"Our thoughts and prayers are with the victim of last night's horrific dog attack."
