Thai teqball teams sweep into three Asian Games finals

NAGOYA, Japan — 19 September 2026, Thailand secured at least three medals at the 2026 Asian Games after its teqball teams advanced to the finals in three events on Saturday.

The Thai athletes won their semifinal matches at Nagoya City Higashi Sports Center, guaranteeing at least three silver medals. They will compete for gold in all three events on Sunday.

In the women’s doubles, Juthathip Kanthathong and Supawadee Wongkhamchan defeated Cambodia’s Sreymom Mey and Soponraksmi Yorn 2-0, winning 12-5 and 12-4.

The Thai pair will face Myanmar’s Aung Su Mon and Than Pui Pui in the final.

In mixed doubles, Petty Officer First Class Phakphong Dechcharoen and Supawadee Wongkhamchan beat Vietnam’s Nguyen Hoang Minh Thanh and Nha Nghi Tran 2-0, with scores of 12-8 and 12-5.

They will meet Japan’s Yuina Sakamoto and Akinori Wase in the final.

In men’s doubles, Jeerati Chanliang and Sergeant Sorasak Thaosiri defeated Iraq’s Jirati Radi Rahdi Abdulrahman Ahmed and Ali Jalil Maysar 2-0, winning 12-3 and 12-11.

The Thai duo will face Lebanon’s Arabi Ahmed Kassem and Mohamed Hafez for the gold medal.

The three teqball finals are scheduled for Sept. 20, starting at 14:00 Thailand time.
