Jose Mourinho throws jabs at the Premier League over Manchester City's charges

Translate

José Mourinho has taken a humorous swipe at the Premier League over the lengthy process surrounding Manchester City’s financial charges.

The Real Madrid manager joked about how long it could take for the case to finally reach its conclusion. According to him, looking at the time it took to get to this point, the football world might have to wait for 20 years before the final judgement will be given.

“Let's laugh about it a little, because we'll have an ending. But, in my 60s, I'll be lucky if I'm still alive when the final verdict is delivered. Because now the sentence will come, and after a year, there will be an appeal.”

Mourinho’s comments highlighted his frustration with the seemingly drawn-out nature of the case, with the manager joking that the legal process could continue for years before a definitive outcome is reached. The Manchester City case has been one of the most closely watched financial disputes in English football.

The Premier League charged the club with numerous alleged breaches of its financial rules, leading to a lengthy independent process. Mourinho has never been shy about expressing his views on financial regulations in football.

During his time at Real Madrid, he was already known for his outspoken personality and frequently used press conferences to make pointed comments about issues affecting the game.
