Australia Women's first-ever bilateral tour of South Africa has been postponed by a week, and will now take place from March 24 to April 18 next year to accommodate both teams playing in the inaugural women's Champions Trophy. The ICC event will conclude on February 28 in India whereas the bilateral tour - featuring three T20Is and three ODIs - will conclude with a four-day Test in KuGompo City, also known as East London, marking the first time a women's Test will be played in the city.

South Africa and Australia will face off in the T20Is from March 24 to 30, before moving onto the ODIs from April 3 to 10, which also count as part of the ICC Women's Championship qualification journey for the ODI World Cup in 2029. The first ODI will be the sixth time the South Africa women's team plays a 'Black Day ODI', in Durban, with the aim to raise awareness about the gender-based violence crisis in the country.

The tour will be rounded out with a one-off Test match from April 15 to 18. This is only the second time that Australia and South Africa will face off in a women's Test, with Australia having secured a convincing innings win the last time they played, in Perth in February 2024.

"Hosting a heralded team like Australia will always be a special occasion, let alone doing so for the first time," said Pholetsi Moseki, the Cricket South Africa CEO. "We are very appreciative of the work put in by both Cricket South Africa and Cricket Australia to ensure the tour's new dates were confirmed following the scheduling of the ICC Women's Champions Trophy."
